Biography

Sarah E. Gerard is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa. She is the director of the Pulmonary Imaging and Computer Vision (PicV) Lab. 

Dr. Gerard completed her PhD in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa. She did postdoctoral fellowships at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School and the University of Iowa, both in the Department of Radiology

Dr. Gerard's research mission is to develop innovative AI techniques for multimodal medical image processing to characterize physiological structure-function relationships. She has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and two patents.
