Graduate Research Assistant, Roy J. Carver Department of Biomedical Engineering
Biography

Hello, I’m Raisa, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa. My research focuses on developing deep learning techniques for medical imaging that are not only accurate but also practical for integration into real-world clinical settings. I’m particularly interested in advancing methods that enhance the clinical applicability of AI in healthcare.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), with a major in Communication and Signal Processing. After that, I worked as a research assistant for a year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering, before joining the PicV Lab at the University of Iowa. In UIUC I explored advanced machine learning methods for virtual sensing in nuclear reactor systems. For more details about my previous work, please feel free to visit my google scholar.
